Where do I put my hope?

One thing I've been thinking about lately is "Where do I put my hope?" I started thinking about this when I read Psalm 25:4 "Show me your ways O Lord, guide me in your truths and teach me, for you are my God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." First, I had to figure out what it means to put your hope somewhere. I decided that I put my hope where my hands and elbows are. What do I hold onto or lean on so I don't fall? I asked myself, what would make you fall if pulled out of your life? That is a hard question because you can't really know how you will respond when the really hard stuff in life hits. However, it helped me realize that I lean on having children in the future and my marriage. Then I read Psalm 62: 1-2 "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." I realized putting your hope in something is not as much what you hold onto, but what you stand on. I am standing on the solid foundation of Christ and I am in contact with other things that have no guarantees. I guess I just have to be willing to let go when temporary things fall and not let them pull me off my solid foundation.
